Feiary — Apparel Configurator

A custom-printed apparel site built end-to-end — marketing landing plus an interactive design configurator: upload artwork, position it on the garment by gesture, preview live on both sides, order.

Overview

A full marketing site — hero, product showcase, brand story, responsive across mobile and desktop — with an interactive configurator at its core. In the configurator, the user uploads a print, moves/scales/rotates it inside a mask with touch gestures on mobile and mouse on desktop, sees a live preview on both product sides, exports to PNG, and submits an order — with automated confirmation emails to customer and company. Bilingual (RU/EN).

Challenge & approach

A canvas design tool touched by real customers has two hard parts: gestures that feel right on every device, and an order pipeline that can't silently lose a submission. Both got real engineering:

  • Custom multi-touch gesture engine — pinch-zoom, rotation and drag computed from raw multi-touch events, no third-party library; the one part of the codebase under real unit tests

  • Hardened order API — IP rate-limiting, attachment size enforcement (NotiSend's 5 MB limit), type/count/side-uniqueness validation, stage-tagged errors, separate email payloads for company and customer

  • i18n via middleware — locale routing as a rewrite, no next-intl; fewer dependencies, full control

  • SEO & routing across the whole site — dynamic sitemap.ts/robots.ts via MetadataRoute, per-locale and per-product URLs generated automatically

  • Deliberate perf choices — WebP over AVIF (documented reasoning), explicit canvas: false alias for Konva under Next.js

  • Meaningful e2e — Playwright asserts real visual invariants, not just 200-OK smoke tests
